Texas Camps Are Now Safer — Thank you for your support!

As we look back on the past several months, we want to pause and acknowledge the extraordinary movement you’ve helped build. Your calls to state senators and representatives, your shares on social media, your donations, your conversations with neighbors and friends – they all added up. And because of that collective action, life-saving reforms are now being implemented at youth camps across Texas.

In September, Governor Abbott signed The Heaven’s 27 Youth Camp Safety Act and Youth CAMPER Act into law. These reforms are already taking effect, thanks to the unwavering advocacy of families, legislators, and supporters like you.

Because of you:

  • No child in Texas will sleep in a cabin located in a floodplain near dangerous sections of a river.

  • Camps must follow clear emergency planning requirements and undergo stronger oversight.

  • Parents can send their children to summer camp next year with more confidence and peace of mind.

These are real protections that will save lives.

And while these accomplishments are rooted in the unbearable grief of the Heaven’s 27 families, they also reflect extraordinary hope. Their courage, paired with your support, turned tragedy into urgently needed reform.

The video above captures the voices, the advocacy, and the community that made this moment possible. We hope you’ll take a moment to watch and share.

And we’re not stopping here.

Together, we are building a movement to ensure every child is safe at summer camps across the U.S.

Thank you for standing with us as we honor the memory of the 27 girls who lost their lives on July 4, 2025, while in the care of Camp Mystic. With your help, pain has fueled purpose and we intend to continue creating lasting change that will protect children for generations to come.
